Guy asked for my number...now lost my phone

Met a nice guy the other night, he's quite a bit older than me, 25 + years but seemed very nice and very attracted to him. Gave him my number, exchanged some texts and spoke on phone over a couple of days and I've only went out last night and lost my phone! No chance of getting it back, I am gutted, don't know his last name and doubt he has social media anyways.

Do you have contacts back up to the cloud? Or if you used whats app the texts might be backed up

celibatebeauty · 14/10/2018 21:20

Well I've been trying to get on icloud to use find my iphone but I forgot my password and it will take around 3 days to sort it out. Contacts may be backed up actually! I never thought about that! It was all through texts not whatsapp. It's really frustrating as I think someone has it. My friend was phoning it last night and it was switched off, and it has now been on all day but just ringing out so it must be charged. He'll think I've disappeared off the face of the earth.

Have you tried ‘find my iPhone’ ?

celibatebeauty · 14/10/2018 21:30

@Kennycalmit Yeah I have but forgot my password and so they locked me out of my account and so now I have to wait 3 days to get it fixed, so annoying! My own fault for being so forgetful!

I don't understand how losing your phone means losing your number. Sure you can get a duplicate of your sim card and put it in a different phone?

Anyway, check your phone bill for his number.

celibatebeauty · 14/10/2018 21:45

ohhh I never even thought about that! Can I get a duplicate sim? How do I go about that?

OP posts:
AsleepAllDay · 14/10/2018 21:47

@celibatebeauty your mobile provider can stop the SIM & give you a new one that should have your most recent contacts saved - just go to one of their stores

SparklyMagpie · 14/10/2018 21:49

Can you not access an online bill maybe? The duplicate sim though should do it

celibatebeauty · 14/10/2018 21:50

Aww perfect! Thanks guys! Feel a bit better!

If you sent a text won't his number be on your bill? Phone your company and ask for the numbers.

AFistfulofDolores1 · 14/10/2018 21:51

Freudian slip?

celibatebeauty · 14/10/2018 21:54

@AFistfulofDolores1 what was the Freudian slip?

OP posts:
celibatebeauty · 14/10/2018 21:58

Oh that losing my phone was the Freudian slip? I have pondered that to be honest

TWENTY FIVE YEARS PLUS? Ewwwww! Dirty old man, you sound young. Losing your phone is a blessing

AFistfulofDolores1 · 14/10/2018 23:17

Yes, losing the phone. I'm being quite serious. If anything were to be defined as Freudian slip, this would be. Totally unconscious, and often against what you think you want.

AFistfulofDolores1 · 14/10/2018 23:17

*a Freudian slip

HollowTalk · 14/10/2018 23:20

He's 25 years older? Are you kidding?

bluetissuepaper · 14/10/2018 23:47

OP my DH is 22 years older than me and we are very happy. Hope you find his number and things get back on track!
