I live with a divorcee. We have been together for 3 years. He has two children who I see regularly and I have a good relationship with them.

Last night we were watching a film, and I turned to him and said if a gunman broke into the house and asked him who had to die of the two of us what would he say. Without hesitation he said "i would say you because I have kids"

I am gutted. But am I being unreasonable?

Why did you ask him that question? I don't think there was a right answer for him to give to be honest.

What a silly question! Just asking for trouble! If he asked you the same question, hopefully you'd say "Me, because I'm the better person"?

On re-reading the question : "YOU, because I'm a better person"!

Yes, it won't happen. Silly question to ask if he only had one correct answer in your eyes.

A man who puts his kids first. What's not to like?

You see yourself up for a fall there didn't you, what a stupid question. And for what it's worth he's right, if he has kids and you don't then his life matters more to others.

Daft question and a daft way to assess someones love for you.

What a stupid question. Who doesn't want to live? I suspect that you would answer that you're the one who gets to live. Why should he have to give up his life....just because he's man? Daft....
