My mom has always been criticizing me and always points out every little mistake and flaw i have and she always compares me to her friends daughter. She says she does this because "it makes her feel better" i try to say that she cant just keeps on doing that but she ignores whatever i say and continues on her speech on why i suck. She goes on about why the mother is always correct and she doesnt even encourage me to do anything or help me in any way. She sometimes asks why im always looking sad and not proud of myself. But then she continues to lower my self esteem. At this point i already think im useless and sometimes a bit suicidal but she just wont listen
to me.

Oh dear! I have experienced similar. You could try to explain how she makes you feel but in my case it had no effect.
See much less of her? She will be the cause of much of work your sadness & depression.

I would give up on her listening to you, ever, OP, and see if you can book yourself some therapy to explore and find that self-esteem of yours.

Be honest back to her and tell her how her comments make you feel. Being very generous, she might be trying to buck you up but it sounds like the time has come to tell her to lay off!
It's hard pleasing parents when they think everything they say is for your own good. Time to tell her you have grown up and emotionally move away from her.
