What does this mean in a relationship?

Excessive reliance on a partner, usually going hand in hand with destructive behaviour from one person (addiction for example) with the other person trying to be the "rescuer."

And putting other's needs before your own (at your own detriment), failure to set/maintain boundaries, and assert your needs.

Agree with previous posters. Not always characterised by an abuser /victim style relationship. Certainly very conflict averse, lacking confidence and a people pleaser.

Why do you ask?
