Alcohol

Do you think alcohol makes you say/take on board things you don't mean OR is it your true feelings?

In my opinion alcohol makes people say things they feel deep down and loose their inhibitions.

MsOliphant · 25/08/2018 22:19

Maybe some true feelings thrown together but not coherently or eloquently, depending on the level of pissness.

I don’t think it’s easy to say, when I’ve been drinking I’ve said things I’ve bern holding back from saying but I’ve also said nasty things I didn’t mean as well as utter crap,

MsOliphant · 25/08/2018 22:21

Yeah agree, I haven't half spouted some tall tales and it bullshit when lashed.

Shoobydooby09 · 25/08/2018 22:24

Alcohol can make you say things you feel and mean.... but perhaps you wouldn't have said without the alcohol. This could Either a confidence issue or because you pretend to think/feel something else but alcohol can make the 'truth' come out. Ifyswim

I think it can do both I’ve seen situations where people have got things into their heads which are totally untrue and acted/spoken in ways that really aren’t them, but I’ve also known people who reveal far more of their true feelings and thoughts when drunk than they ever would sober. Has something happened OP?

user1492863869 · 25/08/2018 22:30

Alcohol lowers inhibitions, impacts on physical and mental responses and alters behaviour and mood. So not a reliable way to give and receive opinion and information. It is seldom used in therapy or relationship counselling.

Zazu44 · 25/08/2018 22:34

I don't know yet Boo, I need to have a think in the morning. Wasn't off my face but maybe a little braver than usual. Confused 😞

Bit of both to be honest, certainly in my case anyway.

We’ll be here if you need to talk it through Zazu, hope you’re ok Flowers
