Padlock symbol on Match.com??!

Hi fellow Match.com users, can anyone help me? What does it mean if there is a padlock symbol against somebody’s profile? Does it mean they’ve blocked me?

One guy viewed my profile yesterday so I viewed his too (the symbol wasn’t there initially), I didn’t wink or send a message to him or anything, simply had a look. Later when going back on the site a padlock had appeared on his profile and it says I can’t interact with him. I’ve also since noticed the same padlock against two more profiles, neither of which I’ve even viewed! If I have been blocked by these men why on earth would they do that when I haven’t even viewed them? Seems very strange indeed to me. I have very average normal photos, I’ve been reassured that I don’t look some crazy stalker lol. Has anyone else had this happen with no good reason....I feel a tad offended!

Sounds more like they've set their profiles to private

May be find me on match if your on the uk one? Gaza_777 . You can block me and we’ll see if the padlock shows

May be but wouldn’t that hide the profile

Hey. So was on match , emailed a lady nothing rude just introduced my self and asked if she wanted a chat sometime.. 10 Minutes later there was a padlock sign.. after looking on her again it came up , that unblocked her .. this isn’t right so I searched on how to unblock someone .. here it advised how you could unhide a profile .. this makes me think a padlock sign means they have hidden your profile so that you do not show up in there searches.. and I guess. The fact they did this means they do not want you to contact them meaning match stops you from winking or contacting them ...

Oh well I guess a padlock means they blocked me then. Totally unnecessary when I haven’t even made any attempt to contact them!

I think it’s more they hid your profile so you don’t come up in there searches which is sort of the same as block but not quite so harsh.. be positive and think it’s saved you time on them and move to some one who deserves you

Hi, I got this earlier too, only it said I had blocked them, yet they’re not in my blocked list. When I go back into the nesssge it just says ‘you’ve blocked this member’ and ‘you can’t jnteract with them.

Would it not be best to ask this question of Match rather than posting on an unrelated website?
