To put a lock on the inside of the shed?

A few weeks ago, fed up with not being able to have any undisturbed peaceful sex my dh and I had a quicky in the shed Smile. Difficult as trying to hold the door closed during... this seems to have now become a regular thing ( couple more times since)! We have teenagers who seem to be always awake! Shall I just put a lock on the inside and enjoy the 5 min peaceful shag!

Won't a lock on your bedroom door be a better idea? But yes, if the shed is your new sex space, then a lock is essential before a teenager starts to wonder what's so fab about the shed and decides to take a look!

Aprilshowersinaugust · 12/08/2018 15:53

Eh I remember shed- shagging - - I was 15!!

bigchris · 12/08/2018 15:54

Can't you have it in bed at night or in the morning ?

SomeKnobend · 12/08/2018 15:55

Grim, think of the spiders! Get a lock for the bedroom/bathroom instead!

northernlites · 12/08/2018 15:58

Well if I bumped into George Clarke in my shed I'd lock him and me in GrinBlush

Guiltypleasures001 · 12/08/2018 16:00

Oh hell I'm now thinking of the poor spiders with their eyes averted, giving their willys an extra wipe on your washing, in revenge 😃🕷

itbemay · 12/08/2018 18:33

We’ve never closed our bedroom door so to now put a lock on would appear odd to dc’s , previously we’d wait for them to go to sleep before dtd but lately they don’t seem to go to sleep! I can’t wait up till they do!
Early morning is impossible too as I’m up and out mega early - I’m in my sexual prime (40s) and can’t find space to dtd, I can’t be the only one!

@someknobend - downstairs bathroom so no joy there!

@guiltypleasures101 eekkk didn’t think of the spiders Grin

Er, is the shed upstairs then?!

itbemay · 12/08/2018 19:41

@someknobend Smile bathroom right next to kitchen... shed at end of garden!

Maelstrop · 12/08/2018 19:58

Are your dc in the habit of just bursting into your room?

Notmany · 12/08/2018 20:02

Is it more fun in the shed? If not just get a lock on the door and endure the initial awkwardness. Your physical relationship isn't something to be ashamed of.

bigchris · 12/08/2018 20:03

Are you that noisy you cant do it when theyre awake Grin

Stealth boasting!

AveABanana · 12/08/2018 20:04

Lock for the door and curtains for the window.

Hidingtonothing · 12/08/2018 20:07

Yes, I’d get a lock and make it as comfy as possible in there, if it’s working for you why not?! Can you tell I’m a similar age and also ‘in my prime’? Grin

Lollypop701 · 12/08/2018 20:10

Why are you even asking?? I’d put a fold out bed in there too !

bigchris · 12/08/2018 20:11

Is it true about 40s being our sexual prime?! Smile

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 12/08/2018 20:13

If they're teenagers just shut the bedroom door and tell them not to disturb you, they'll soon figure it out!

gttia · 12/08/2018 20:13

Yes I'd would make it lovely and put a lock on

itsBritneyBeach · 12/08/2018 20:43

You have to definitely turn it into a shag pad. Lock, lovely comfy furnishings, perhaps a mini fridge stocked with wine and chocolates..Grin

LeroyJenkins · 12/08/2018 21:26

its so hard trying to get grown up time with bloody teenagers staying up late !

ILoveMyDressingGown · 12/08/2018 21:39

Do you need the shed for garden storage purposes or could you empty it and do it up all nice and cosy? If not, and your garden is bug enough, you could get a summer house. They come with proper locking doors. You could make yourselves a really nice lovenest in your garden. Make sure you put curtains in the windows though!

itbemay · 13/08/2018 11:23

I am loving the suggestions on here, @ilovemydressinggown currently browsing 'small summer houses' - not sure where to put the old paint tins and lawnmower but...!

@maelstrop no they don't come in but they are in and out of their own rooms so we can hear them and can't 'relax'
@notmany it is more fun in the shed!
@hidingtonothing and @bigchris yes! i am loving my fun forties! feel like a different woman Smile
@leroyjenkins it really is frustrating, when they were small and went to be at 7pm and didn't get up i was too tired for sex, now i'm not and they're always mooching about!

Thank you all for your replies Star

Are you embarrassed that they might know you're having sex? If that's the case then they're going to catch on fast when they see the two of you nipping out to the shed by yourselves. Perhaps you should just say what the heck, lock your bedroom door, and put a "do not disturb" sign on the doorknob. Set a positive example on how an old married couple can still enjoy sex.

itbemay · 13/08/2018 15:26

@scott72 less of the old!! I am embarrassed, I remember when I was 13 on holiday with my parents and hearing them dtd Confused it was awful!! But I know what you’re saying and perhaps we should just get a lock, save the shed for afternoons Grin

How is putting a lock on your bedroom door less strange than you both running off to the shed together and coming back disheveled? Confused
