First date anxiety

I have had a first date lunch with a colleague from work. (I have split with dh) there has been a lot of flirting between us and he has told me he is single etc. Yesterday was only a quick lunch, he bought us a lovely bar meal each that neither of us could eat due to nerves. We chatted loads and made plans for the near future. We then had some colleagues join us and that was fine. We headed back and on the drive we were holding hands disscusing another date. He also squeezed my thigh very quickly and went back to holding hands.

I never thought I would be in this position again and I am really worked up.

Sounds lovely. Just relax into it, don't race ahead. It might turn into something bigger but will probably be just some fun. Either way, it sounds like you are ready for it and he sounds respectful. Enjoy it.

Thank you for your reply. In my heart I am certain we are into each other but it's really early days. I never liked this stage as I am a very straight forward person. Anything out of that box sends me into panic mode.

I guess I never thought I would be at this stage ever again so wasn't expecting it. I certainly wasn't looking for anyone as i just couldn't be bothered.
