Hey, sorry I know this is on the wring board but I'm a bit worried and just wondering if anyone any experience with being referred because of a mole that's changed shape and size etc?

Doctors have just called and said I'm on an urgent referral...

Anyone had any experience?

I think AIBU is the better board for that kind of question.

No experience OP but try not to worry.

There are guidelines to follow and if you have a few red flag symptoms (as you say - change shape and size, your age could be a factor, medical history, family history etc) they have to refer you within 2 weeks.

My friend has had a few of these due to breast lumps, her age and family history but she has been given the all clear each time and it’s usually down to hormones - I know this is different to yours but try not to stress out about it - easier said than done I know.

And even if there are concerns, I think it would be quite a straightforward procedure of just cutting the mole out.

Thank you, I've sort of given my head a wobble,I'm sure it's just been referred to make sure and be on the safe side. Thing I just panicked because they said urgent referral - it sounded scary x
