Daughter trouble

I posted previously on advice about my ex. We split a month ago for stupid reasons but till then had a brilliant relationship. The problem i think stems from his daughter. She's an only child and he's her main care giver. She usually stays at her mum's 3 nights a week. But that suddenly changed. She got into some bad ways and wanted to be out with her friends all the time...her mum lives in the country so she can't see them there. Suddenly she wanted to be at her dad's all the time and as I also have 2 kids who are at home full time this made things difficult for us. She's an only child and he dotes on her, which is fine, but she's very manipulative and he just gives into her. I got fed up and ended things, then immediately regretted it. He's not well and so decided he wants to stay alone, that he's happy to just give his time to his daughter...even though she doesn't really bother with him which makes me angry. I love this man very much and would love to try again. We even agreed to stay friends, but when we do see each other it's for a short time and it's difficult. He's usually getting back to daughter. My daughter gets angry and says it will never change and I should let it go. But we had such a close relationship and talked of a life together. His daughter is 15, and she did seem to like me. But she makes everything about herself regardless of who gets hurt. I feel him slipping away and I'm heartbroken. I know he loves me...but am I wasting my time or do I wait it out
