Feel like I was raised in an open mental asylum

Only at 35 after having children have I realised that I have been emotional abused and neglected my entire life. It still continues and I feel trapped as there is no cure for those people close to me with their chronic conditions. I feel a strong purpose however to do better for my children, but there is only me. My children are unaware as my abusers seem perfectly normal to the real world. Anyone experience anything similar? Advice please?

Narcissistic people always look normal to the outside world, they seem to be able to write the perfect script for their particular movie, but behind the scenes there is total shit going on.

I'm just about to start a book called 'Running on Empty' about childhood emotional abuse. It may be of use to you.
