Dear ExMil,

Your son was verbally, emotionally and financially abusive to me for 15 years.
He was my first relationship, childhood 'sweethearts'. I knew no better and tried so hard to make him happy and for us to work.
I know you will always support him as he is your son, but please don't blame me for the split or believe the lies he has told you since.
We were so close and I loved you. I still miss you now.
Its been 4 years, I am remarrying and I have a son. I am sad these are things I can't share with you as I know deep down you would be pleased for me.
