partner has just received a blackmail email of someone who located his password to a porn site, recorded everything and then asked for a payment within a day. he has gone to the local police about it.
i'm not squeamish about porn sites or use of porn. however we have had a long break from a normal sex life with little kids and a big move for his work, and he refuses to talk to a counselor with me about it.
this leaves me feeling like we don't have much left.

Ive had one too and I dont watch porn or have a webcam on my monitor, i would be interested to see any footage he has of me Mumsnetting (my only vice!)

Joysmum · 13/07/2018 10:00

Glad that’s cleared things up.

Now it’s timd for you to both work on your relationship together. If he doesn’t want to go to counselling then you both need to be able to talk about how you can both improve the relationship.

He doesn't care. Or i dont. Im not sure theres hope for us.

What I find worrying here is how he took this seriously and was clearly worried about it. It would make me question what he's actually been up to.
If I got an email like that, even if I had been watching porn, I wouldn't think for one minute it was real.

Am I missing something? What's happened??

PookieDo · 19/11/2018 13:54

It’s a scam. I had one too!

BeenieMan · 19/11/2018 13:56

Chances of Software Dev actually managing all of that is limited. Also most WebCams would have a light to show they were recording, if it didn't come in there's nothing there.

95% sure it's rubbish.

Looks like nobody actually believes him given he's had 1 single transaction to that wallet: Wallet Transactions

BeenieMan · 19/11/2018 14:00

Actually I take it back. If you follow the link of transactions it looks like it washes into an "Uber Wallet": Uber Wallet Balance

An eye watering 1421 Bitcoins, or just shy of £8M. Can see why sending out scam emails is so lucrative.

BitOutOfPractice · 19/11/2018 14:34

It's spam / a scam / not real
