So I've been on a couple of sites about a year of 2 ago ,and I found a lot of the guys to be creeps and only really seemed to be using the sites as a hook up site but I want to avoid all that ,each to their own but its not what I'm looking for at this point in my life ,i m looking for a site that is genuinely better for finding relationships and if they don't cost to join or reply to messages then even better x

And also any advice on what sort of pics to use as apparently the pics u have on determines what kind of guy will message u

I was online dating for about 5 years and think the popular and good sites change around a bit. A few years ago I got into (what turned out to be) short relationships with a couple of guys via Match. They were both decent guys but just didn't work out.
More recently I had success with Tinder and am 5 months in with a really great guy.
A few years ago it was just for hook ups but now is for people after all sorts of things including serious relationships.
I found most guys on tinder were also on plenty of fish. what I like about tinder is you can only be messaged by someone you also like. and it's free also.
Photo wise I didn't put any sexy pics (not that I have any!) just pics of me in different situations but looking my best. Had a fairly short description of me explaining what I was looking for.
Seemed to eliminate most undesirables but got the odd weird message. Never received a dick pic though!

I hated Plenty of Fish, and found Ok Cupid and Guardian Soulmates far better. On Ok Cupid you can screen a lot more easily in terms of what you're looking for - all free too. Met now DP through Soulmates, and didn't get any of the "Hi sexy" messages that seemed to be standard on PoF. People on there seemed to put more effort in, and be more honest about what they were looking for; same on Ok Cupid. No dick pics on Ok CUpid or Soulmates!!

I was 39 and 40 whilst on Tinder and were plenty of guys my age on there. Someone I know is mid to late 50s and is now engaged to someone he met on Tinder (2nd marriages for both) so think there's everyone on there nowadays.
