Anyone familiar with using an Ashley Madison account?

I have an AM link on H's laptop history (possibly from when he was working away) which I am unable to trace. From a few years ago, redirects to the login page but obviously isn't that, it contains the word 'keyword' and looks like a search to me.

Is there anyone with an account and working knowledge of using it who would be able to take a look and try to replicate it or something similar so I know what's going on?

Also, does the site give you an account number which shows in the search string of links?

I did make an account myself a while ago to try and check it out, but was a bit overwhelmed and didn't really get anywhere.

Thanks in advance for any help. I don't want to post here directly and open it up to random speculation without actual working knowledge, so please feel free to pm me if you can help.

Ok if you make an account you can search for him on it, you can narrow down the search by age and location, assuming he's been truthful about his age, it also mostly tells you when he was last on
He most likely won't have a pic but will have private ones that he sents a password to unlock, you would probably get s good feel for which one is him by what he's written, I would then honey trap the fuck out of him

I remember when hackers stole and published Ashley Madison user information, and it strongly suggested only a small fraction of accounts where real women. If your husband were using it the odds of him actually getting a girlfriend out of it would be very low - but of course there's still his intent you have to worry about.

Mytwistedimagination · 26/07/2018 11:05

It's the intention behind it that worries me scott72. If he's been on one, chances are he's been on more, and there's bound to be plenty of real women out there on those sites.
tccat I did, and tried searching by me and age, but there were so many to look through, and at the point I looked any account would have (I suspect) have already been abandoned. I seriously he would have used his real name anyway.

OP - most of sites like this require men to pay subscription.
If you have joint accounts/cards - you can look for suspicious payments.

As well as for any hotel expenses - see if he’s ever downloaded (and deleted) apps like DayUse - for hotels, for eg.

Also - see if there are new and suspicious anonymous messengers - KiK, Wickr, etc

You need access to his phone for that - type those names in the apple store and see if it suggests ‘installing from a cloud’

Also - check any hidden photo folders.

As to searching on the actual site - it’s not easy. As you said - way to many profiles.

Thanks josuk.
Unfortunately, as it would have been a few years ago now there is nothing to find on his phone. He was v interested when the hacking scandal came out, then when I went through his laptop on a totally unrelated matter, I came across two links in his history, one was an old login landing page, the other was something which looks like a search string, to me. I know he was a prolific incognito user, so the fact I only found those two, and the (possible) search string bounces back to the login screen makes me think he forgot on this one occasion. I think I was hoping I'd be able to duplicate a similar search string by using the site, but no luck so far.

He hasn't got an apple phone.
I did find an empty folder labeled 'redheads', but assume this was his porn stash of pics for later viewing. As he's admitted to doing that. Nice.

OP - if you are unhappy or the relationship isn’t working - you don’t need to try to look for activities in the past to justify it.
If this was around the time of lots of stuff in the press - it could have been curiosity anyway. You’ll never know.

Do you think something is off with him now?
How is the relationship today??

BrucieTheSharkie · 27/07/2018 11:43

Try putting his email into haveibeenpwned.com it will tell you if he had an account when they were hacked (plus any others not just dating/porn sites) but only if his details were part of the leak

Paisleypatternedpumpkin · 27/07/2018 22:09

Brucie I’ve just typed my boyfriend’s email into that site and it came up as being “pasted” in March this year from zoosk. Does this mean he was actively using it? It couldn’t have been suspended for example?

I’m totally gutted if that’s the case 😩

MsMotherOfDragons · 27/07/2018 22:11

If you log in (using your own account), can you then view the search string url?

How about filtering the search results by height? (Give or take a few inches).

Paisleypatternedpumpkin · 27/07/2018 22:18

I don’t have an account but I can make one. What’s the search string ? Confused

MsMotherOfDragons · 27/07/2018 22:20

Sorry @Paisleypatternedpumpkin, I was replying to the OP.

Re your dilemma, I wouldn't have thought it meant that he was necessarily actively using it, more that it was just an address on their database. For example my email address comes up for Tumblr, which I have only used once in about 2008! Personally unless you've been together since, like, the dawn of the internet I wouldn't take that as a worrying sign.

Paisleypatternedpumpkin · 27/07/2018 22:34

Sorry for hijacking the thread. Thanks Mother

Mytwistedimagination · 27/07/2018 23:52

No problem paisley, I hope you find answers, it's a horrible feeling being made to feel suspicious isn't it?

MsMother I did try that as part of the search, but there are so many variables, including giving false info, that I'm not convinced I'll ever find it that way. For example, did he set it up with a location local to home/work/his location when working away/somewhere close by but not correct, just in case?
I'm pretty sure I tried putting the web address in the search bar while logged in and it still took me to the login page. From that I (wrongly or rightly) assumed the first part of it related to the account which was open to do the search (ie his) and so I couldn't see the results because I wasn't logged into his account. If that makes sense.

I have tried putting email addresses into the pwned and an Ashley Madison checker site, his usual ones were clear. However, an email address I'm sure I haven't seen before came up on an auto fill recently. When I thought to check that one it showed as being on the AM hack list, though wasn't a legitimate email account. So does that mean it was an account set up for AM then deleted afterwards? I don't know what else would give those results.
