News story here

I'm horrified at this and yet people in the comments seem to think he's a great dad. I think it's abusive. What do you think?

Very odd to share such controversial methods of discipline on Facebook too.

I think it sounds like a parent at the end of his tether with his older son beating up his younger son.

I also think he was fairly confident in which choice the younger one would make.

Abusive? As a one off I don't think so.

Would I do it? No.

The boy who was the victim to begin with ended up being more distressed than the one who was being punished! Even if the father knew what the child would decide to do it was still wrong.

My god. That was horrific to watch. The looks on those children’s faces says it all. Not only was the Dad bullying the older boy, he was then forcing the brother to contemplate hurting his brother, which was the exact behaviour the older one was being punished for! Add to that the fact the younger one was chastised for permitting himself to be bullied...wtaf? That was brutal and nowhere close to parenting. Easy to see where the children have learnt to bully and what was the (assumed) mum doing filming the humiliation?! Send mixed signals, threaten, scare, terrorise and humiliate your children to get them to be nice. Brilliant job Angry

Dreadful.

And obviously not a true choice because what is going to happen when the boy is untied?

Why do some people have children.
