Hi , I am thinking about opening a profile on match.com - During registration they've asked for my postcode ,BUT I don't particularly want to meet anyone local - I live in a small community and don't want anyone knowing my business. It makes me feel like I,m getting eyed up when I walk round my local Tesco.

Also match want connect to my Facebook account so they can uploadad a photograph, is there any way I can "unconnect" from Facebook once Ive uploadaded my photo ? - Or will Match always have access ?

Put in the postcode, or the site will have no way of knowing what part of the country you are in, which will make you impossible to find. If you're doing OLD there's no way to keep it completely private. 99.9999% of the people in your village will not be looking on match.com.

Rather than connect to your facebook account, just upload a photo you like. All sorts of evil things can happen when you connect your facebook to anything these days.

I met DH on match.com, 23 years ago when it was so new it was free and there was no way to upload a photo.

Good luck. Smile

You need to be local really, otherwise it's long distance and people don't go for that so much

thanks for the help - I will sleep on it , as for the Facebook thing , in the end I had to use Fb - it was the only way my computer would let me upload a photo, I,m sure theres some computer trickery gone on there ! - I tried ten times to upload from my photos, and nothing - But as soon as I opened access to my Fb it uploaded immediately - is there anyway I can disassociate my Fb account from match.com ? If I delete my account will that keep them out. ?
