Fighting for your relationship – does it ever actually work?

You often hear people say they will fight for their relationship to make it work.

Obviously you can't force someone to keep loving you if they've stopped.

But can you make them realise that they still do?

Not for me. You hear a lot on here about people 'checking out'. My exh did and there was nothing I could say or do after that.

I guess it depends the reasons the relationship needs fighting for to begin with and the other persons feelings. I think if you've just grown apart that can be saved but if someone has already decided its not working its very hard to change that decision.
