‘On a break’

Hi all, I don’t post here often, but really value all the threads. Long story short myself and DP have been together a year and a half, he’s a bit emotionally useless. I’ve got some issues (dad 10 year affair suicidal Mum) which basically made me somewhat crippled with abandonment issues (working on it). Few stupid arguments and DP says he ‘wants a break’. He’s moved to his mums (3 hours away). Obviously this is eating into all of my issues, I’m getting VERY mixed signals. He briefly popped over this evening before a do to pick up some clothes, I was super calm and said have a great night etc. He said he misses me, but then spoke of getting a hotel for a week but we ‘may’ speak tomorrow or Monday face to face.

I guess I just need to rant, I’m desperately trying not to text but it’s so hard this living in limbo- especially when he’s out. Anyone been in similar situations- how did it work out for you? I’d really appreciate any advice
