We are not in a happy place at the moment but DH has just said this to me and is apparently mystified that I am not seeing it as a compliment and am upset?!

I say that he can’t say that without the implication that I have under achieved somehow - am I over reacting??

No, that's exactly how I'd interpret it. Do you feel you've underachieved? And is that anything to do with having got married and had children, by any chance?
