opinions needed of modern women please

hi

you might have already seen my thread about website names and products to sell for babies/children, well i now have plans to take over the world selling everything!!!

well not quite!!! im looking at setting up another website aimed at women selling sex toys and the like - ive had a look at other sites and although they seem girl friendly they still seem a little tacky.

i want the site to come across as informative and accessible as well as fully stocked.

if you were to buy online as opposed to going in ann summers what would you want???

i want to offer erotic reading material and if i can find some - dvds made for women instead of for men. i dont want it to be seedy but open and trendy, i want women to feel like its the same as shopping for a handbag.

what would put you off??

No page-3 type models! If you need pictures of lingerie or other models, they should be more like catalogue models.

definitely not - went on one site and although it was quite a nicely laid out site it had theis model in hooker heels and pouting all over the shop!!!

nope no models sixe 6 or otherwise - i dont want to see some bird looking suggestive - though george clooney holding a rabbit might be a different story lol

models of the larger sizes not theese size zero ones it makes me cross

too much fuschia pink would put me off (no offence pinknfluffy!) as tacky websites and catalogues aimed at women always seem covered in bright pink (see Ann Summers!)

Erotic literature and art. Actually book would be good - subtle though.

Don't call the site anything with 'toys' in the address

There is a site that advertises on our local radio station called something like Pink Pickle Toys and I am just waiting for DD to ask to go on it...

Make it as unlike A Summers as it's possible to be, I find A Summers a bit 'gimp in pink' iyswim!
Tasteful colours (no florescents) and fgs don't start dressing like Jacqueline Gold!!

How about 'sex-in-style' SIS for short as is 'sisters'. So a kind of sisterhood place with a chat forum hosted on the site so that women can chat about sexual matters - get advice etc in an open way?

Then perhaps use the forum to host competitions and do demos of 'product of the month' or mini-videos etc.

Think of it as an all round offering, not just a shop! Go for the whole experience of sharing as sisters, our sexual lives and then teh sales will flow!

Personally I think it would be a shame to exclude the pink fluffy and tacky stuff because a lot of people secretly like this sort of thing. I think you should have different sections, classy lingerie and the tacky, sleazy stuff. Same with any other gear you may want. If you exclude the sleaze market I think you'll be cutting off a lot of your target clientelle.

Name the section different things e.g. sugar candy etc for the fun stuff and (can't think of a name ) for more mature, classy stuff.
