Samsung phone icons cheating?

I am maybe going to sound a little crazy but I need to know what this symbol is....

Husband has been distant for weeks, has shut down from me same old story you alway read. I noticed yesterday that he has now locked his phone using his finger print and turned off alerts so it doesn’t come up on his locked screen.

I have an iPhone so no idea what these symbols mean. He received one with a M in a box and one like a speech bubble shape with writing in but without the speech bubble point. I can’t find it online.

Also what do all the coloured flashes means it’s constantly flashing green.

Thankful for any help received.

That is an email and a text.
The flashing light when red, means he has notifications.

SusieQwhereareyou · 22/05/2018 13:30

If he’s suddenly turned off message preview I would be very suspicious.
Some people have theirs off as a matter of course, but to do it all of a sudden would make me think there was a reason.

SueDunome · 22/05/2018 13:31

Green flashing lights are for Facebook Messenger or text measages

Hogtini · 22/05/2018 13:35

Yes to green for Facebook messenger or text. You can set the colour of your flashing notifications for whatsapp but form memory it's blue by default.

dontgobaconmyheart · 22/05/2018 13:43

The 'M' notification is for Gmail i'm pretty sure, so an email ( which unhelpfully could be anything I suppose) - My Android phone flashes green for a whatsapp message, but as others have pointed out, you can set the phone up to flash a certain colour for a certain app manually- i don't remember doing it but setting the green up to match whatsapp is exactly the kind of pointless thing I'd do, so maybe that's why!
If you're really stuck OP you can always snap a photo next time you see it then ask on here to get a definite answer ( or google the notification's to see if the pictures match) - Hope it comes to nothing for you.

chemicalworld · 22/05/2018 13:46

Meet up is a red flash and and M

Imonthewarpath · 22/05/2018 13:47

Thanks everyone.
I tried digging lastnight but all his passwords have been changed and obviously I can’t access his phone now.

I have no evidence to confront him with except why have you locked your phone that’s suspicious. I know it will instantly get twisted to why are spying on me, I can’t have any privacy etc etc.

What should I do from here wait it out and see if he slips up?

booboo24 · 22/05/2018 13:47

Yes the colour is not helpful as I've got purple for WhatsApp, blue for Facebook, green for messenger. mine us red for low battery and green whilst charging!!

Gmail is a red a white M. I expect Match is an M too but blue I think???? can you take a pic of it from your phone and post here?

gryffen · 22/05/2018 13:49

A letter icon with M is Gmail
Blue is a message/FB etc
Green is call
Red is low battery

I'm a Samsung s8+ so my edge lightening goes a bit weird sometimes.

beansforbreakfastonceagain · 22/05/2018 13:50

one like a speech bubble shape with writing in but without the speech bubble point

That sounds like a third party messaging app like Kik or something, I don't know which one though.

Imonthewarpath · 22/05/2018 13:50

Chemicalword- is Meet up a curly kind of m?

I have looked think it was a gmail which is actually an account I didn’t know he had. Is it wrong to try and hack it?

OP posts:
Imonthewarpath · 22/05/2018 13:54

I will try and snap a photo if I see it come up again and he puts his phone down for one minute. Tried googling but that one isn’t coming up.

I think when u have a android phone it makes u set up a gmail account like iPhone does with iCloud

Imonthewarpath · 22/05/2018 14:04

Thanks Alfiemoom1 for that info

OP posts:
booboo24 · 22/05/2018 14:09

That's right Alfiemoon, you have to have a gmail account to set up Google play to download apps. For confirmation though the flashing lights can be customised to whatever the user wants

JellyBean31 · 22/05/2018 14:15

Kik shows as "kik" on my Samsung

Alfiemoon1 · 22/05/2018 14:19

Does he use WhatsApp u can check last time he was online from your phone unless he has switched it off

Imonthewarpath · 22/05/2018 14:28

No he doesn’t have Whattsapp. I did here him talking about KiK the other day so now wondering although it was a KiK icon.

OP posts:
Alfiemoon1 · 22/05/2018 14:36

Gmail is red and white and not a curly m match I think is blue with a little heart above the m

Imonthewarpath · 22/05/2018 14:37

goo.gl/images/tE4U69

This is what his phone is like with the mini icons like this.

I should just ask him shouldn’t I.

OP posts:
Sofabitch · 22/05/2018 14:49

bit daft of him really seeming as samsungs come with a completely private phone section.

booboo24 · 22/05/2018 15:01

unless I'm missing something that's just s missed call and a email....

booboo24 · 22/05/2018 15:03

Removing notifications is worrying if he always had them on before. As is suddenly locking his phone, unless he suspects you're snooping?

Imonthewarpath · 22/05/2018 15:24

Booboo24 that isn’t his phone screen.

Ive never snooped well slight lie I have looked at his Facebook page and I knew his email password from when he’s asked me to look at something or print something off for him. I only noticed it when he asked me to pass his phone to him. Didn’t think much of it but now with his distance, phone being glued to him and this I am beginning to think the worst.

OP posts:
booboo24 · 22/05/2018 15:28

I did wonder about the screen!! If you can get a pic of his phone with these notifications then hopefully we can help with what they are.

I'm the first to leap to conclusions, but try not to as it may be nothing. However, the change in his behaviour does sound a bit iffy. Try to sit it out for now and watch if you can x
