40 & I don't fit in with my friends...

My age is irrelevant really, apart from the fact I sound like my 12yr old daughter, but I don't fit in with my friends anymore. They all have a lot more money than me and are doing more & more things that I can't as can't afford it. I work so see people at work, but I don't have anyone to talk to to have a moan /chat or a quick text. We are a busy family and I love my partner to pieces, but I'm missing friends. I have a sister, but not that close. I don't have loads of time to socialise, just a chat every now and then to someone in a similar situation.
Any suggestions welcome?

You have to make time to socialize. It rarely 'just happens' when you have a busy life. So you have to go to group events, things at the local village hall, participate in groups, take up a hobby, etc. That is the only way you're going to meet new people that could become friends.

Thank you for your reply. I agree with what you have said, I'm not very confident,, hence why I'm here. It's hard to admit to a anyone that you feel you have no friends!
