Why would you phone a strip club?

I've probably missed the train on this one as it happened around 6 or so years ago but another thread has just reminded me of this.

So years ago DP was taking part in a sporting event with a friend. It was due to be a day of the sport on the Friday, sleep over at the hotel that night followed by the Saturday doing another day of sport and drive home.

I spoke to DP Saturday morning and knew he sounded rough. I asked if he'd been out the night before. He said he hadn't (to be fair to him I used to get upset if he'd go on nights out - we'd not long had a baby and I was vulnerable, and with hindsight also a little crazy). I just knew he was lying so pushed it a bit and he admitted he had been on a night out - clearly a heavy one as him and his friend made their way home from the hotel a few hours later feeling too rough to do their sport for the day as planned.

I checked his phone log when he got back and noticed an odd number that he'd called late at night. Put the number into Google and it was a strip club that was in the city that they been in. I can't remember exactly how long the call was, possibly a minute maximum.

For some reason I never confronted him. It's crossed my mind a few times over the years as I'm not comfortable with him lying to me or strip clubs, and now I'm wondering, for what reason would you actually phone a strip club?

Because he forgot his wallet there would be my first thought.

To check opening times?
To check if a certain member of staff was there?
To see if something they had possibly left behind had been found?

Directions?
Left wallet/coat/manbag.
To check prices?
To check opening times.
To prebook a dance?

I guess any reason you might phone a typical entertainment centre.

To check if open
To check entry cost
To check if any entry clothing requirements

Would be my guesses

Yes, left wallet there.

Thanks, they could all be likely! If I remember rightly the call was made around 1am - 2am ish so could be any of the above! I might just put him on the spot and ask him!

Lost property would be my first thought that time of night. Or if he had lost his mate calling to see if he was still there at a stretch??

6 years ago? What difference is it going to make at this stage?

Lavalamped · 18/05/2018 23:42

category12 I really don't know, it's just got me thinking tonight and I feel super curious all of a sudden. Wish I'd asked at the time now! I Googled the club and it's since closed due to organised crime, fraud and possibly slavery. So not only was it seedy it was a dodgy one at that Hmm one of the reasons I dislike the places.

He’s going to deny it or say he doesn’t remember
