I've been best friends with my best friend for ten years now+i had a baby 6 months ago..Ever since i had my baby girl my best friend has more or less stopped coming to see me,shes been 3 times maximum but doesnt stay very long..What is even more upsetting is that shes spending a lot of time with her other friends, sometimes seeing them 3 or 4 times a week..She always says shes coming to see me but whenever i text her asking if she wants to do something like go for a meal she doesn't reply to my message..I've told her i feel very alone as i don't have any other friends in this area but it doesnt seem to change a thing!..any ideas what to do?can our friendship be saved or is she hinting she doesnt want to be friends anymoreSad

I am really sorry to hear this is happening to you but it is quite common. I suspect your friend is someone who just is not into babies or children and unfortunately is too selfish to be willing to put up with it for your benefit. I do not think you can do anything as such but I would start to take your baby to all the local baby groups and make some new connections as well as see if there are local online forums for new mums. Stay in touch with her but don't expect anything from her. Getting into a big fight is unlikely to change her behaviour.
