I know someone who has a violent husband. He gambles a lot, lies and leaves bruises on her face. They have a small child. What can she do? Where can she go for help?
Her English is good, better than his I think, but it's not her first language and she has only lived in this country for about 6 years. She doesn't have any family here. I don't want to expose my own family to potential backlash by intervening. She knows there are refuges but she's reluctant to contact them. I'm not sure why tbh. Does anyone have any idea of what she might expect if she did contact one? She'd have to disappear right? Take her child out of school?
