I’m pretty sure i’ve read on here about a book about toxic parents. My friend is having a really tough time with a totally batshit mother. I’d like to buy her a book to help her work through it. What would people recommend? TIA

It may depend on the type of batshit to be honest. If you can find that out it'll be easier to recommend something. Or you could pop over to the stately homes thread and have a look at the advice on there, there are lots of recommendations there

I've read Toxic Parents by Dr Susan Forward after seeing it mentioned on MN. I found it pretty useful.

My counsellor recommended this. I found it useful

Thanks, those look good. The mother is very likely a narcissist from what i’ve heard. Super manipulative, an expert liar and very good at the blame game. But, it’s not my story to share.
