Couples counselling. Did you go through Relate or another route?

DP and I think we might need some counselling. Arguing a lot and going round in circles.

If you've had it, did you go via Relate or someone/somewhere else?

I once had some counselling in the Tavistock centre for couple relations, after a really bad break up. It's was very psychoanalytical, and I don't know if I'm up for that just now.

Thanks

(Ps am feeling really shit).

I searched around and found a local charity. It worked out well, but I later found a better private counsellor who I chose just to have as my individual counsellor.

First time with Relate.
Second time private.
Relate was very good. Every interested professional eg: GP, other councelling etc were very sniffy about them, but we got alot both from their relationship and sex therapy courses.
The private councellor we saw was absolutely dire and pushed our marriage to the absolute brink so we decided to stop as we hadn't gone with the aim of splitting up. We could have got a similar advice from a health visitor for free.

Went through works employee assistance programme. No idea that was an option untill a friend mentioned they used it at their workplace completely free. Good so far.
