Verbally abusive 17 son

I don't know what to do? My eldest out of 3 teenagers is verbally abusive. No matter what I do he is never happy and always forgets all the nice things I do for him. I feel like I am reaching the end of my rope! Any thoughts would be welcomed!

When he turns 18 kick his arse out!

HongKongPhooeyNo1Superstar · 05/04/2018 13:01

I'd kick him out too.

He will come through the other side of this

Don't worry too much.

CocoaZut · 05/04/2018 13:10

That thought has crossed my mind. The attitude started when he began high school. My other two are not like this.

Er well stop doing nice things for him...
Change the Internet password. If you pay for his phone- stop.
Don't do his washing,
Don't cook his meals.
Don't clean up after him.
Don't give him any money.
Until he can speak in a civilised manner don't do anything for him.

It's what you allow op.

My teenage dc have always had £5 knocked off pocket money every time they insult someone from an early age (swearwords would mean zero pocket money hence they would never swear).

More importantly, why are you allowing it and what repercussions are there if they do?

Sounds there is zero respect or kindness or consideration so you need to establish this when they are young so it is ingrained before they become teenagers!

Kindness and consideration for others is a two way street and has to be unless you want to end up like a doormat.
