Empty nest and all the usual problems

Just coming to terms with the fact I’m about to have an empty nest and looking for ideas.
My marriage is more of a companionship and lacks intimacy but we do usually get on ok and are planning a big trip away.
Husband works away a lot and I am retired through I’ll health but do have hobbies and friends.
I suppose I’m just looking for a hand hold as the house is so quiet!

Hi

Would you be able to get a part time job or do some volunteering? Do you have a dog? Both a job/volunteering and a dog will get you out of the house and with some responsibilities.

I'm a year away from this and a bit worried already, also have a DH who works away quite a lot and am also retired through ill health, are you me?

I have hobbies and am lucky enough to have a lot of friends who are great but it will mean being alone a lot at home for the first time ever. I'm not scared of being alone, I actually currently relish it, it will just be very different and lots of it.
