To cut a very long story short, my husband told me tonight he wants to divorce. There’s no argument from me! We live in a house we own subject to a mortgage that he pays. My name is on the house and mortgage. He works. I stopped to be a SAHM. Daughter is 2.5yrs.

I have no money of my own to see a solicitor. What do I do? Let him see one? Stay put? Work is definitely in my future. Do I look now or wait for a settlement?

Obviously the story and my feelings run much deeper than this email. But I wanted to keep it short. I’m fed up with listening to the divorce threat every time I stand up for myself. So blow it.... he can have it. But what do I do?

I’ve really had enough! Blah..... rant over!

If you have a joint account use that and see a solicitor? Alternatively phone around and see if you can get a free half hour consultation.

In the meantime start scouring employment websites and check the online tax credits website for what help you will be entitled to.
Good luck, op, take control and make the life YOU want Flowers

Citizens Advice might be helpful too.
