Red flag, DH cheating?

Ok I'll try make this brief but just wanted to hear people's opinions on DH phone behaviour.

So at the weekend I sent DH a text, he was in another room but his phone was near me, it was just a screenshot of something he needed to buy, the text sent and said delivered but no notification popped up on his phone.

I thought this was a bit odd but didn't say anything, when he came back in the room he picked up his phone and within seconds he had commented on the text so I know he definitely got it.

The same happened a few nights ago, I sent him a funny pic of one of the DC, he was in the shower and again the phone was next to me and nothing came up!

He was being a bit arsey that night so I mentioned it and he had that 'busted' look on his face, made up some story that he has his notifications turned off at work because some of the texts his mate 'Dave' sends are a bit embarrassing when they flash up on his phone, my thoughts are if you're tech savvy enough to turn your notifications off then surely you know how to turn the preview off! In fact I'm pretty sure he never had previews before so I'm sure that is bullshit. And the first time I noticed it was Sunday! Completely understand phone being on silent but text notifications totally off - is this a red flag or am I reading too much into this? Thoughts please.

I’d perhaps wait and see before upsetting yourself irrationally over something that may not be true. My ex disabled all of his notifications because his ex at the time (and recently I found out other women) were texting him and he obviously didn’t want me finding out. Over a Christmas holiday when he was away he must have enabled notifications (as we were apart) and when he got back he forgot to disable them and one night he left his phone on the dining table and there were messages from at least 4 women he’d been messing around with. He stopped using WhatsApp so I couldn’t see if he was online (since he had zero friends and the only people he talked to were these women). Just have your wits about you but not all men are cheats.

Gut instinct is usually right Have you had any other feelings? Any other signs

I have WhatsApp notifications turned off as in group chats you can end up with so many coming through but if notifications are off, you can just see how many messages there are.

By itself, I don’t think it’s anything really, but it’s the wider context that matters really. I have all notifications of any kind (not just text) turned off from 8pm every night. They annoy me and there is no one I need to hear from so badly in the evenings who couldn’t just call. I also have my phone on silent nearly all the time. If anything related to the dc comes through, often it’s in my line of sight so will see, but if not my dh is obsessive about always answering his phone so I figure they’ll try him next. So in isolation, no wouldn’t even think about it, but maybe if there is more to it than that.

Turning off notifications wouldn't worry me. His response and reason would. Daves sexy messages sounds a bit like a cover up.

I have teenagers. I have mine of. But I have vibrate and a ring tone. I don’t like them showing when I’m at work. Plus some are rude

I have four kids aged 9-2. I have my notifications off as my kids go hyper when they see alerts or my phone in my hand.
It drives me nuts, and feels rather invasive, so I tell people to text and I will reply at my leisure or if Urs an emergency, to call.

I am not cheating.
