Who is this number?

Anyone got any ideas how I can find out who a mobile number belongs to? Done google and FB searches and nothing's coming up, my DH is texting this number multiple times late at night on a fairly regular basis. Lots of backstory (although no actual cheating that I know of) but tbh my head is too fried to go into it all now, am just looking for a way to find out who the number belongs to so I can decide what to do next. Too scared to call it and don't want it appearing in my bill anyway so a bit stumped now.

Have you put it in your phone as a contact- save it under something. Then go to WhatsApp and go to write them a message and often their picture will at least tell you if they're male or female.

By saving the contact means you can also check if it coincides when your DH is online at certain times. Although this isn't concrete in itself it may be helpful.

On second thoughts; if the texts are showing up then they aren't using WhatsApp..

If you have WhatsApp put the number in your contacts list & check the pic - see if you recognise the person

part of me would be tempted to text the number and say “i had a missed call from this number, who is this?”

or you could just call, and hang up when they answer (that way you will hear if its male/female/recorded message)

Just done that (great idea!) and it doesn't look as though they're on whatsapp, the number doesn't appear in my whatsapp contacts list so am assuming that's what it means?

Don't want to call it as DH could access my phone bill if he wanted and I don't want the number showing up on there.

Could you not call it off a landline?

Can you drive to a call box?

Sometimes my phone doesn't show numbers in whatsapp until my phone has updated. Not a techy but if I switch the phone off and on it seems to refresh the apps. I'm old 🙄

I'd ring it and withhold my number or get a friend to do it.

Lots of people have their settings on whatsapp to private so you can only see their pic if your number is in there contacts. So it's possible they have whatsapp just have the settings for only their contacts to be able to see them. Personally I would call it.

Go into contacts in watsapp and hit refresh

Put it into Facebook?

Sorry, having a bit of a wobble, know I can't stick my head in the sand but scared of what I will find out. Can I come back when I've walked the dog and cleared my head a bit? May well take one of you up on your kind offers to call for me, just need to work up the courage.

Fairly sure DS would drop me in it if I went to a call box, don't think I've used one in his lifetime so he would be bound to tell daddy all about it
