11 yo DD upset - just found out I'm seeing someone - divorced her DF 18 months ago

She's found out that a friend I've had for a year or so may become my partner. She's never seen us 'together' or intimate or anything, just be friends.
They've been at their dad's (my EA narc exh) this weekend, after spending half term with me.

How did anyone else deal with this? She's sobbing now in bed...

My DDs were a bit younger, but yes, the first time they knew I was seeing someone new they did get a bit upset. Its kind of the final stage of knowing that your mum and dad are not likely to be together. Its the fear that you might love your new partner more than them. It didn’t come out immediately, but because my new partner lived in the next town, my oldest started to become worried that we would all move to his house and she would lose all her friends.

They really do think a lot. You have to reassure, reassure and reassure some more. It was tricky at first, but 18 months on, we were all sat down having a lovely Sunday roast yesterday at mine and my DDs chose to buy my DP a small Christmas present from their pocket money this year.

I have taken it slowly, maybe too slowly at times and both DP and go to great lengths to make time alone with our respective children. Its working for us. Give your DD time.
