Divorce or separation?

Bakground: Left my H mid January because he was working too much and I just couldn't cope on my own with a newborn (working away for days at a time, 16+ hour days) and no family nearby. I used my words, he promised change, no change happened so I moved in with my mum so I could at least have a few hours nap in the day. I also arranged to go back to work because it's not a good idea to be financially dependent on someone who doesn't give a shit if you're too exhausted and stressed to function!

DD is 6 months now, I'm back at work and she thankfully sleeps 5 hours at a time. I'm also genuinely happier now, looking for a new job so I'm not doing a long commute every day and she starts nursery in September. Since I left he has seen her about 6 times for a few hours during the day when he doesn't happen to have work, had her for an overnight this weekend (10 hours of sleep!). He now has work for the next few weeks so won't see him for a while. He pays the CM minimum and has agreed to pay half her nursery when she starts. Still puts himself before her or me, but is an adequate parent when he can be bothered.

Now: It's time to get the legal stuff sorted, as our relationship is quite obviously over, we barely speak as that would require effort from me and frankly I have enough to worry about and I'm VERY angry with him. (He obviously makes no effort either) Were polite and discuss DD but that's it. He doesn't make effort either, and looking back never did (made noises about councelling then did fuck all)

So, am I better off with a legal separation with divorce in 2 years or divorce with unreasonable behaviour (which would be not loving his wife i suppose) few if any joint assets, no joint mortgage or savings no debt except he has a credit card that my name isn't on and I couldn't tell you the balance. He is self employed and has bought business stuff with joint money but I didn't mind at the time. We earn about the same on paper, with him being self employed he pays less tax and can claim stuff like rent on taxes so he sort of earns more and sort of doesn't. I'm also still on the tenancy for the house he is in as it's up in august and he didn't want to change it halfway through. He pays all the rent. He is currently also paying my phone bill (it's in his name and he hasn't changed it yet)

Access to DD wise is 1 day at the weekend if he is not working, overnight if he's not too knackered.

If anybody got through all that, any advice?
