Please can someone tell me what to expect after a surgical abortion?

I'm absolutely terrified of what lies ahead but know I don't really have a choice. I've read lots of stuff online about people gaining massive amounts of weight after, even though they are exercising and being careful what they eat. This isn't mentioned in the information the clinic gave me and fills me with dread. I just want to get back to feeling and looking like my old self again as quickly as possible. Is there any way to avoid or minimise this if it is something that commonly happens?

I have told a couple of friends and my family also know. My friends are working or have children to pick up from school. My family are not in the country. Looks like I have to cancel as I have no one to pick my children up from school as the person I was hoping would be able to is Ill in bed

The clinic said they prefer you to have someone with you for 24 hours but appreciate that that isn’t always possible so they would be ok with me leaving alone in a taxi.

World mean him taking the day off work and I don’t like him knowing anything about my life so a bit difficult
