Taking a relationship break?

I'm at my wits end up with my relationship, I feel as though I'm at a point where my life is so wrapped up around his it's impossible to work out what I want from mine anymore (including our relationship). It's getting to a point where the only option is to take a break or go all the way and split. Has anyone ever been through this? How did it work? I'm so scared to throw away

Pressed post too early... I'm so scared to throw it all away to then realise I made a mistake (and the soul searching I need is just with myself and not us). I'm late 20s and we've been together 7 years. I'd love to hear any advice from anyone in this situation or been through it.

Take the break. If you feel like this now then how will you feel any different in 1,2,3 years time. Best to work out what you want now before investing anymore time in this relationship
