Reporting Old domestic violence

Hi all,

Can I report an old case of domestic violence to the police?

I'm going through divorce and my ex wants to keep the house, until youngest is 18. I can't afford to lose that money for that time, and can't afford a solicitor.

Currently I am having the boys. (6 and 3), half the holidays (3 weeks summer, 1 week Easter) and every other weekend.

I'm that time I have to have my children with my Mum. Who is elderly and getting to much for her. I can't afford to put up money for a rental, and can't get a second mortgage.

Can I report it, so I can claim legal aid.

I have a report from work stating she punched me. This happened in April last year. (The incident happened at work) can I report it now?
