And it hasn't affected me so far Grin . Sure it will soon... I've had lovely conversations with people who say they don't think I look 50. That's nice but in this day and age I don't think 50 is that old. Give me your stories of being over fifty!

So did one of my colleagues... Are you posting from South America?? narrows eyes suspiciously

I passed 50 a few years ago, nothing has changed. It's just a number

glitterbiscuits · 04/01/2018 21:45

Do you feel all grown up and responsible now?

Anniegetyourgun · 04/01/2018 21:52

I'm nearer 60 than 50 and recently started a job that gets me up off my ass and walking around. I've lost a load of weight (though to be honest there's plenty more to lose) and feel so much more lively and healthy than I did, say, a couple of years ago. A lot of it is how you think about age. Some poor souls don't get to live this long (my mother for one), so you and I have been lucky so far. For that matter, some go on to be a hundred, so you may only be half way!

After all, you're only one day older than you were yesterday.

I turned 50 four months ago... also finding it all a non-event.
But fig me, it's a long time... I was explaining to someone I didn't need to read up on X subject today because I first learnt it at University (3 decades ago). Eek.
