Hi Ladies i need a talking too,

This might seem a strange question to ask as my case is now cut and dried and done with...or so i thought.

My exh left in March 2016 after 18years together and apart from some essential emails has swanned off and lived his life leaving me to pick up the pieces and never given a stuff about me.

He still sees my ds(16) twice a week for dinner and picks him up he always waits in the car and txts ds that he is outside. therefore our paths never cross.

I was chilling out in lounge whilst ds was getting ready to go out as he said he will collect him at 5.30 when i had a knock at the door and it was only 5.10 i answered the door to an empty space and him pulled right up to my house and sat in his car, i called up to ds that his dad was here and shut the door, i asked ds if his dad had txt him to let him know he was outside and he said no.

Now all that may seem a normal thing to do if we where on speaking terms but we aren't and he has always gone out of his way to avoid me.
why now would he think thats ok to do this knowing full well it would be me opening the door and not ds.

He has got ow who he left me for so am i right to think/feel that this is a bit strange and maybe he is trying to get my attention, i must add he really is an awful coward when it comes to confrontation.

Am i making more out of this maybe ?

It has thrown me a bit so would appreciate other peoples take on it.

Thanks for listening lol

Em, maybe he had no credit on his phone: phone at home etc. There was no guarantee you'd be the one to open the door, and he'd obviously legged it back to the car incase it was you.
Think you're making more out of it than it is. Stop trying to read something into this. If he was going to try to get your attention, hiding in his car to avoid you would not be a way to do it.

I agree - with only that to go on it could simply be phone died and as you say you're not speaking so he probably didn't want an awkward exchange.

My first thought is that he's run out of battery or forgotten his phone at home rather than something malicious.

userxx · 02/01/2018 18:33

Yeah, think you are definitely overthinking this one.

NellMangel · 02/01/2018 18:38

Agree with others. I wouldn't read anything into it.

I am a total over thinker regarding my ex too. Everything he does I interpret as him wanting to piss me off or get my attention. My friend sat me down and gave me tough love talk to make me realise I occupy none of his headspace while he preoccupies most of mine. Bastard. X

If he was being nasty, he would have asked a passing stranger to knock, said something to your face when you answered...

Thanks for your replies and yes now I've had time to think it through its probably him leaving his phone at home.

I wasn't expecting him to have been so brave i suppose as he really has gone out of his way to avoid me due to his guilt over what he had done to us.

I never thought it anything malicious as even though he was cruel and cold when he left he was never a nasty person deep down.

Anyway I'm calmer now and able to think about it rationally.

Thanks everyone
