When Online Dating goes wrong - WTF? (Also <light-hearted>).

Have been chatting to someone on OLD for a couple of weeks. Wasn't 100% sold on our compatibility but he was funny, witty, switched on, well educated, into the same things as me so it's been enjoyable just chatting on WhatsApp. He's an hour away and we were planning to meet up after the Xmas craziness.

Occasionally the chat has been a little bit saucy. Nothing explicit, no photos but just a bit of descriptive Q+A about preferences etc. Last night before bed this happened again and I dozed off.

Woke up this morning to a completely non-contextual and very graphic pornographic photograph of a 'Japanese ladyboy' 😐🤔.

Have blocked him on all mediums.

Why do seemingly 'normal' men do such things?! And how do they convince themselves that a woman would be receptive to such images? It's no great loss as someone who would send such a thing is clearly not someone I'm compatible with so I'm almost glad he revealed himself so early on.

Onwards into a, hopefully pervert free, 2018 😀🍷.

I have no idea why they do it.
I guess some of them get off on the idea of 'shocking' the woman they're talking to but it can't be all of them that send that kind of stuff, surely?
Online dating is weird, but also fascinating. It was a real eye opener for me. So many peculiar people.
