I’m applying for a new mortgage with my husband whose doing all our form filling. Since my sister had a bad divorce a few years ago I have a escape / rainy day fund & credit card. I have no intention of leaving my hubby etc. But I don’t want to tell him about it will the mortgage company tell him? Because I’d rather come clean than a company tell him.

They won't tell him about your savings but they might ask if you have a credit card and if so, they might want to see credit card statements going back 3 months.

So you're OK :)

Nope. If it's a joint mortgage they usually want last 3 months' payslips for both of you and the last three months' bank statements showing the matching payroll credits. I've never been asked for credit card statements - just balances.

They will ask about credit, not savings. They will know if you have a credit card because they do searches however with me and my DP all we had to do was send in three months pay slips. There was no "meeting" as such where we had to disclose everything together. We just emailed the adviser all of our info seperatley and that was it.
