Divorce

My partner and I are in the first stages of a Divorce, we have no children and only have a mortgage on the House. My question is, in English Law, does the house get split equals between the 2 people. Or is it dependant on who put the most money in as a deposit?

I don't think the deposit matters, the house is owned 50/50 and as such would be split and shared equally

It might not get split 50/50. If it’s a long marriage and one partner vastly out earns the other then it could go 60/40 or even 70/30. On the other hand if it’s a short marriage and the parties earn similar amounts 50/50 would be fair. Most family solicitors give an hour’s free (or reduced rate) advice, it might be a good idea to make an appointment.
