Daughter was in her room getting ready for bath. I was pottering around upstairs tidying. Husband was standing in bathroom next to running bath. I asked him to check bath and make sure the temperature was ok. He said he would. He didn’t check bath and stood there while daughter climbed into v hot bath. Luckily she was fine as she jumped out immediately. Apparently this is my fault as I ran a hot bath which is a hazard.

He said he would check the temperature.
He didn't. Pretty clear where the fault lies.

I think the responses here will go both ways. You know you should have put some cold water in first. On the other hand, you trust your DH to test the water when he says he will. Otherwise, why ask him?

Parenting should be team work. If he said he would check and didn’t, then it is his fault. He was next to the bath and he said he would check. Surely, sorry is the only response.

Clearly he should have checked temperature but always safer to run a cooler bath to start with to remove any risk

Glad dd is ok

That's horrible and negligent
