Grumpy family members

How do you deal with moody or downright bloody miserable family members? Especially at Christmas?

My DM is never happy unless she has something to moan about. I've got loads of examples but worried about lazy journalists so won't give specifics.

She plays misery-top-trumps so whenever someone's ill or has something bad happen, you can guarantee that something worse has or is happening to her...it's so wearing.

Anyway, we're hosting Christmas this year. Please give me your best ripostes to the negativity - DH and I love Christmas, as do our little DCs so I don't want the bloody moaning to cloud the festivities!!

Apart from 'STOP BLOODY MOANING!!!' which, I fear, won't go down well...Grin

Get them a grinch hat and hand it over every time you hear a moan.

Haha!! She would HATE that!

No sense of humour...especially at a Christmas.

I think DH and I are just going to play Moany-Bingo and down a drink every time something negative is said.

We'll be hammered by lunchtime Grin
