Slowing down online dating

I’m not new to online dating but I’ve noticed there are a lot of guys on there who message constantly/in big batches. I text my friends back and forth but don’t like that with someone I’ve not met. Aside from anything else it makes me distrusting of them. I just don’t reply for a while but it doesn’t seem to stop them replying instantly.

What Is the right thing to do when they infer some kind of intimacy or as if they actually know you when you’ve not even met? It makes me quite uncomfortable when I know that on meeting them there’s a good chance we just won’t get on.

Help? Do I just avoid the ones who textbomb constantly?

Textbombing is a red flag for me.

Really you should just be working towards a quick first meet (of course it’s nice to have a positive attitude conveying “I hope we get on and am looking forward to meeting!)

You can tell more in an hours drink (including how easy going/considerate/reliable they are in terms of arranging the meet) than in lots of one line messages from someone (who could be a right weirdo behind the screen )

Also, if someone has a job/active life, then why/how do they have time to send all these messages unless they’re a bit weird/addicted/glued to their phone.

I also think it’s easy to create a false sense of intimacy when they could look NOTHING like their pics
