does your relationship make you feel special?

Mine doesn't. Hasn't for ages. But nothing unpleasant - in fact, it is perfectly pleasant but I don't feel truly loved like a partner. Am I just being needy or should I expect to still feel special after 20 plus years? I still feel head over heels in love with DH but feel he tolerates me.

I feel like this quite a bit and it has made me question my relationship big time.
Best thing to do is to talk to him about it. After 20 years you will know (hopefully) if he is telling the truth.
Be honest with him and ask if he's still in love with you. Maybe it is just your self confidence waining and he isn't really going out of his way to show it since he's so comfortable now?

Thanks well. I raised it when we were on holiday recently as I felt he was making a huge effort to talk to others (people we had only just met) but was largely ignoring me - he said he didn't think he needed to make an effort with me - I don't think he meant it in a bad way - more like you've described.
