Please someone tell me I'm being stupid

Messaging others on a site, a friendship site, but really I shouldn't be.

I just have no friends at the moment, struggling, and want someone to speak to other than my DP who is lovely but really need others to talk to!

What's wrong with messaging others on a friendship site? Confused

Is it actually that people are messaging you on said friendship site for dating/flirting/sexually?

LoyaltyAndLobster · 27/09/2017 19:41

I don't see anything wrong with it, if you are generally trying to make some friends.

Ellisandra · 27/09/2017 19:42

If it's genuinely only a friendship site, just message straight female (assuming you're a straight female). Job done.

If you don't have many friends, why not look at local social groups like Meetup?

Annelind · 27/09/2017 19:45

It rather depends on the tone of the messages, OP, and if the messages are to people of your preferred sexual gender. I joined a friendship site, am female and got lots of messages from men looking for a bit of illicit excitement. Their wives/partners didn't know about this of course!

Um unless you’re doing sex chat what’s the issue?

Why can you not speak to DP? X

May be its worth giving it a go??

Sorry I don't know the background.
