Put this here as I couldn't work out where it should go.
I was on holiday last week. We were travelling on a local ferry from one island to another.
While queuing to get on there was suddenly a lot of shouting and an elderly man was berating his wife because she couldn't work the ticket machine. He was really nasty and aggressive.
A few minutes later he was at it again because she was walking too slowly onto the ferry. At this point the person who was obviously organising the trip joined in with shouting at her. There was in fact no rush because it was approximately 15 minutes before we moved off.
I was absolutely horrified at his behaviour, I can't emphasise how awful out was, and nobody did anything.
I can't help feeling the tour organiser felt able to join in because of his behaviour and the lack of reaction by the public.
I really wanted to help. Had we been at home, and had I got the information I would have slipped her the number for Women's Aid.
I feel awful that I did nothing to help.
I was married to a man like this for 23 years and I know what would have happened to me if anyone had publicly called him out on his behaviour.
I feel terrible that I did nothing, but what could/should I have done?
