Hi all,

I've been having anxiety related issues about having children in my late 30's and it's coming back again. I've been with my girlfriend for 4 years and feel extremely lost about what to do.

Who here has had children after 35? How old were you when you met your partner? Did either of you worry about your age?

Thanks

What are you anxious about? Being a parent? Not sure you really want to be or is it just the age thing?

I had my dd8 at 36 (almost 37) I never felt compelled to have kids and she was an accident but as soon as I was I felt it was right. My age didn't enter my head.

I was 36 when I had my DD. DH was 43. We are both exhausted toddlers are batshit insane

My sister had both her children well into her 40s. She seems tired. But she didn't meet her partner until then so the children were happy surprises. I think its clear from research that its harder to conceive later in life, and you do get exhausted but if the situation is right then it's right, age isn't the only consideration.

My first child arrived just before my 40th birthday.
It's all good, the kids will keep you young and in shape. Ok, it's exhausting too but if nature had had its way you should have done this at 20.
Just make sure you find time for yourselves as a couple too.
